Comprised of a wide variety of complex flavors and textures, Thai cuisine is synonymous with Southeast Asian cuisine in general. Typical Thai food is said to be the spiciest in the world (yes, ahead of South Asia!). In fact, Thai cuisine can vary greatly from country to country, with different regional traditions influencing the creation of the country's most popular dishes.
Pad thai

Pad Thai is the most popular meal of Thai cuisine. Pad Thai is a good starter if you want to familiarize yourself with Thai food. The literal translation of Pad Thai is “Thai-style fried noodles”. It consists of rice vermicelli mixed with sweet and sour and spicy sauce and crushed peanuts.
Tom yam kung

Tom yum kung means "hot and sour soup with shrimp" and is the most famous Thai soup in Thailand and abroad. A versatile Thai dish that goes well with any dish. A bold and refreshing blend of lemongrass, chili, galangal, lime leaves, shallots, lime juice and fish sauce. The fragrant aroma of these ingredients makes the soup more authentic. Tom yum goong is usually made with shrimp. However, it can also be served with chicken (Tom Yum Gai), fish (Tom Yum Pla), or mixed seafood (Tom Yum Tare) with mushrooms.
som tam or som tum

Som Tam is a Thai dish that originated in the northeastern part of Thailand. A savory green papaya salad that goes well with the spiciness of red pepper, fish sauce, lime or tamarind, and palm sugar. This dish also contains garlic, green beans and cherry tomatoes. Regional variations of this dish also include other ingredients such as peanuts, dried shrimp, salted crab, and rice vermicelli.
